Welcome to the USS Cheron!

If one is the master of one thing and understands one thing well, one has at the same time insight into and understanding of many things

George Santayana

Welcome to the USS Cheron, a New Orleans class frigate attached to Task Force 47, the "Avengers", as a unit in Task Group-C, "Kensai." As a ship in the "Avengers", which are stationed along the joint Federation/Klingon/Romulan border, the USS Cheron is often called upon to keep the peace between these three powers, while also forwarding Starfleet's ultimate goal: exploration. In this politically tense and often hostile area of space, such tasks are never easy, but always exciting, challenging...and interesting.

The USS Cheron carries aboard an award winning and devoted crew who are among the best in all Obsidian Fleet. On behalf of the crew of this exciting, fun, and always interesting simm, invite you to first go to our simm page to learn more about us and what we do. Afterwards, we eagerly and whole-heartedly invite you to join this simm and its diverse and talented crew to add your name and actions to the history this ship was destined to make.

Is it your destiny to be aboard the Cheron? Is it your destiny to be aboard the ship that could benefit from your talent and where you will be certain to have your name go down in history? If so, then the USS Cheron IS your destiny, the place for you to grow and have the best time of your life!

Greetings all,

For those of you who don't know me, I'm William, and I own and administrate the top-level domain, www.akiyaone.com. I'm going to be the one that is switching you over to your new domain here shortly, in about an hour. Updating will commence at 9PM MST (11PM EST, 8PM PST).

This domain will have a permanent redirect attached to it. Your new domain (and the one you should all bookmark) is www.usscheron.akiyaone.com.

Please note that I have personally backed up the database. This includes all of your character information, sans pictures. These pictures will be accessible to your CO at the conclusion of the updating.

We have scheduled two hours for this update, however we are anticipating an actual downtime of less than thirty minutes.

The website will have a new look and feel to it when you come back. It will be updated to a completely new engine. If you have any questions you can always contact me or your CO. I'll provide my contact information at the end of the update.

Thank you all. We'll get you turned around shortly.

Yours,

William

» New Ship!!

Posted on Fri Jan 18th, 2013 @ 6:43pm by Captain Conrad Lunir Ph.D in General News

Hi, guys.

It might surprise you to know that the Edison has been up and running for over a year! Congrats to you all for keeping us here that long; I am very proud.

But, every year in Obsidian Fleet, a crew is eligible to change ships. We will be doing so Sunday at nine o'clock. We will be moving to the USS Cheron, a New Orleans Class Frigate. To say the least, I am very excited about this!

At nine o'clock on Sunday, the Edison site will be taken down and there will be a two hour delay from it going down to our new, Cheron, site coming up. Our new missions are going to be VERY exciting. As such, I'm hoping to wrap this one up by Saturday. I know that's a push. If we have to, we'll finish it aboard the Cheron site.

I hope I can count on each and every one of you to be active and make this new ship as fun if not more than the Edison was.

Let us say our goodbyes to the "old girl". She did us more than well and ferried us through countless light years of space to do so much good. I would not have chosen another ship for us and I will DEFINETLY miss the Edison, but, times change and orders com through.

Prepare yourselves, men and women, for a new day is dawning upon us.
